His Final Masterpiece

His Final Masterpiece
by Chad Taylor
His heart grew old
From walking this road alone
He tried to reach out
Across the great divide
No one heard his muffled cry
Until hope even died
He was old
Before he was young
What he had seen and what he had done
Left him alone before life had begun
But now he sees the future
Through the eyes of his sons
From those dark places
Where children dream
Is where you will find his reality
A place where broken men become boys again
And the scars disappear dormant deep within
This is where you will find him
There he is!
In his field of dreams
Surreal surroundings painting-
His final masterpiece
No more prisons and no more pain
He's free...
