The Siren's Kiss

The Siren's Kiss

Sounds of macabre echo from the chalice
Shadows dance across my valance
Is it truth that I should be afraid?

I close my eyes to the sounds abaft
The wind blows now her perfume wafts
Is it déjà vu or is she reaching out to me?

Fingers touch my skin tracing the future
A voice from far away draws me closer
Was it her name I heard in the flutter?

Restless in a dream I stand at the gaff
Shouting at the pallor waves break mast
I am not afraid I step from the deck...

Sinking down deep green eyes find me
Through the abyss she sets me free
Slowly sinking I count the stars

How far I do not know but she still holds
A different world my eyes now behold
Surrendered now I exhale my last breath

To a kiss...

what better way to die, than by the lips of a beautiful creature. the sirens song lures you in, and then the kiss of death, it all happens so suddenly, that you dont even get a chance to fight, even if you wanted too.

A poem filled with passion and abandonment. Very well composed. It captivates your interest until the last very last word.
